The Shiksha Sankalp Society's merit-cum-need-based Shiksha Sankalp Lakshya Scholarship 2026–2027 program helps worthy, academically accomplished students from low-income families pursue and finish high-quality higher education. Students participating in full-time undergraduate programs in India are eligible for financial aid of up to INR 1,00,000 per year for the duration of the course, subject to annual renewal conditions. This support covers STEM-oriented professional degrees as well as certain non-professional courses.

The goal of the New Jersey, USA-based Shiksha Sankalp Society (Resolve4Education.org), a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, is to increase academically deserving Indian students from low-income households' access to high-quality higher education. The Society ensures that financial constraints do not limit academic potential by offering merit-cum-need-based financial support and mentorship through its flagship Lakshya Scholarship Program, which helps worthy students pursue and successfully complete their undergraduate education.

Eligibility

  • Applicants must be Indian citizens.
  • Applicants must have secured at least 85% marks in Class 12.
  • Applicants must be enrolled in a full-time undergraduate degree program at a Government, State, Central, or Public University in India in one of the following categories:

  1. STEM and Professional Courses: Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, Medicine, Pharmacy, Architecture, Nursing, or an equivalent program.
  2. Select Non-STEM Courses: B.Com., B.A., BBA, BSW, B.Ed., or an equivalent program.

  • Applicants' total annual parental family income from all sources must not exceed INR 6 lakh.
  • Applicants must not be receiving any other scholarship for the same course at the time of application. (Exceptions may be considered where the total annual college fee exceeds INR 1 lakh).

Note:

  • Preference will be given to first-year undergraduate students, female applicants, and first-generation undergraduate students (i.e. students who are the first in their family to pursue an undergraduate degree).
  • Students studying in private universities or institutions are not eligible.

Benefits

Scholarship of up to INR 1,00,000 per year to cover tuition and hostel fees (wherever applicable).

Note:

  • The exact scholarship amount is decided by Shiksha Sankalp Society and may vary from scholar to scholar based on the scholar's need, eligibility, and actual payable university fees, up to a maximum of INR 1,00,000 per academic year.
  • The Scholarship is renewable annually for a maximum of four years, subject to satisfactory performance in the preceding year as evaluated by Shiksha Sankalp Society.
  • Scholarship renewal is contingent upon the scholar completing the course within the prescribed duration of the program (typically three to five years, depending on the course).

Documents

  • Recent passport-size photograph
  • Government-issued ID proof
  • University admission proof (university ID card /Bonafide student letter/ Admission letter)
  • Class 12 marksheet
  • Entrance exam result (NEET/JEE/CUET or any other relevant result)
  • University issued Fee structure for the Tuition and Hostel Fee
  • Proof of parental income (any one of the following):
  1. Latest Income Tax Return (ITR) – for salaried or self-employed applicants
  2. Government-issued income certificate – for unemployed / no taxable income
  3. Self-declared affidavit – only if formal documents are unavailable (accepted on a case-by-case basis)
  • Bank account details (copy of passbook or cancelled cheque in the applicant’s name)
  • Academic grade report (Transcript) showing successful completion of the previous year with a minimum of 65% (or equivalent grade).
  • Valid fee payment receipts for tuition and hostel (where applicable) expenses for the new academic year.

Interview: The interview is a simple interaction to better understand each applicant as a student and as an individual. It will cover the applicant's educational background, family and financial circumstances, career aspirations, and the information provided in the scholarship application. No special preparation is required. Applicants are encouraged to speak honestly and openly about their experiences, aspirations, and the challenges they have faced.

Note: Applications with materially incomplete documentation may not be considered.

Selection Process

The selection process is designed to ensure that scholarships are awarded to the most deserving candidates. It includes the following steps:

Initial shortlisting based on academic excellence and financial need. Document verification to confirm the accuracy of submitted details. Video interview with shortlisted candidates. May include a brief conversation with the parents.  Final selection of scholars.

  • Fill in the required details in the online application form, and answer the short subjective/essay questions in detail.
  • Upload the relevant documents.
  • Accept the ‘Terms and Conditions’ and click ‘Preview’.
