SSC CPO 2026 Recruitment

The CPO/Delhi Police SI Recruitment 2026 Notification is now available on the Staff Selection Commission's (SSC) official website, www.ssc.gov.in. There are 1,871 open positions, including the new SI (Fire), Male position under CISF, SI (GD) positions in CAPFs, and SI (Executive) positions in Delhi Police. Applicants must have a bachelor's degree and be between the ages of 18 and 30. Additionally, SSC has added a new position and modified the exam centers, marking system, and exam format.




The official SSC CPO Notification PDF, which includes all pertinent information regarding the hiring procedure, has been made available by the Staff Selection Commission. Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must satisfy all eligibility conditions prescribed by SSC before submitting the application form. 

SSC CPO SI Qualification

Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognised university or equivalent.

For the post of Sub-Inspector in Delhi Police (Male), candidates must possess a valid LMV (Motor Car) Driving License on the date fixed for the Physical Endurance and Measurement Tests.

CPO SI Age Limit 2026 (As on 1/8/2026)

All posts except SI (Fire) in CISF: 20 to 25 years. Candidates must be born between 2 August 2001 and 1 August 2006.

SI (Fire) in CISF: 18 to 30 years. Candidates must be born between 2 August 1996 and 1 August 2008.

Age relaxation applies to eligible reserved categories as per Government of India rules.

Application Correction Window

From October 8 to October 10, 2026, the Application Correction Window will be open till 11:00 PM. Candidates may make changes if they successfully submit their online application and the necessary payment by the deadline.

During this time, candidates may make changes to their application and submit it again up to twice. All candidates will be subject to a correction charge of Rs. 500 for the second correction and Rs. 200 for the first.

Selection Process

The SSC CPO recruitment process consists of the following stages:

Candidates first appear for the computer-based Paper 1 examination. Those who qualify are shortlisted for the physical tests.
2PET/PST
Shortlisted candidates must qualify the Physical Endurance Test (PET) and Physical Standard Test (PST). This stage is qualifying in nature.
3Paper 2
Candidates who qualify the PET/PST appear for Paper 2. The exam pattern for Paper 2 has been revised.
4First Round of Tentative Allocation (FRTA)
The result will be announced in FRTA format, after which candidates will have to submit their post preferences.
5Document Verification
Candidates who qualify the required stages must produce their original educational, category, and other relevant documents for verification.
6Medical Examination
Finally, candidates undergo a medical examination to determine their medical fitness for appointment to the post.

SSC CPO Negative Marking

There are objective multiple-choice questions (MCQs) on the SSC CPO exam. Both papers include negative marking for wrong answers:

Latest Changes in SSC CPO Pattern 2026

  • Both Paper 1 and Paper 2 has been changed completely. Paper 1 is cut in half and sectional timing added.
  • Paper 2 no longer consists of English only, and now it includes Reasoning, Quants, and GA as well. The complete pattern is provided above.
  • Negative marking in Paper 2 doubled to 0.50 per wrong answer.
  • Paper-II difficulty officially flagged as higher. The notification states Paper-2 will be tougher than Paper-I.
  • Final merit now based on Paper-II only.
  • Medical shortlisting also shifted to Paper-II only. Paper-I marks are no longer part of the medical-shortlisting basis either.

What is the SSC CPO Exam Date 2026?

The SSC CPO 2026 Paper 1 and Paper 2 probable dates have not yet been revealed. It is anticipated that the tests will be conducted in early 2027. The official website will post the comprehensive exam schedule, complete with shift times, city notification, and admission card details.

SSC CPO Exam City Intimation and Admit Card

The admit card will be issued two to three days prior to the exam date, and the city notification slip indicating the exam city for Paper 1 will be released eight to ten days prior. By entering their registration ID and password, candidates will be able to view their exam city and admission card.
