Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the IBPS RRB PO and Clerk and other posts, a candidate is required to fulfill the given eligibility criteria, including educational qualification, age limit, experience, etc., which are discussed below:
Age Limit (as on 01.09.2026)
- For Office Assistant (Group B) - Between 18 years and 28 years, i.e., candidates should not have been born earlier than 02.09.1998 and later than 01.09.2008 (both dates inclusive).
- For Officer Scale-I (Assistant Manager Group A) - Above 18 years - Below 30 years, i.e., candidates should not have been born earlier than 02.09.1996 and later than 01.09.2008 (both dates inclusive).
- For Officer Scale-II (Manager Group A) - Above 21 years - Below 32 years, i.e., candidates should not have been born earlier than 02.09.1994 and later than 01.09.2005 (both dates inclusive).
- For Officer Scale-III (Senior Manager Group A) - Above 21 years and below 40 years, i.e., candidates should not have been born earlier than 02.09.1986 and later than 01.09.2005 (both dates inclusive).
Category-wise Age Relaxation:
- SC/ST: 5 years
- OBC: 3 years
- PWD – 10 years
- Ex-Servicemen/Disabled Ex-Servicemen (for the post of Office Assistant (Multipurpose)): the actual period of service rendered in the defence forces + 3 years (8 years for disabled ex-servicemen belonging to SC/ST), subject to a maximum age limit of 50 years

Exam Pattern
Additionally, IBPS has made available the curriculum and exam pattern for the office assistant and IBPS RRB officer scale 1, 2, and 3 positions. The exam pattern used to select candidates for the position of office assistant differs significantly from that used to select candidates for the position of officer grade.
For IBPS RRB Office Assistant, the exam will be conducted in two phases:
- Preliminary Exam
- Mains Exam
No interview process will be conducted for selecting candidates for the post of Office Assistant. Selection will be made purely on the marks obtained by the candidate in his/her mains examination.
For IBPS RRB PO, the exam will be conducted in three phases:
- Preliminary Exam
- Mains Exam
- Interview
For IBPS RRB Officer Scale 2 & 3, the exam will be conducted in three phases:
