SSC GD New Vacancy 2026
The Staff Selection Commission has published the SSC GD Vacancy 2026 for General Duty Constable positions, accompanied by the announcement on December 1, 2025. The openings have been issued based on category and force, details of which are provided below. In the current year, the Staff Selection Commission has proclaimed a total of 23,467 positions available for males within the BSF, CISF, CRPF, SSB, ITBP, AR, and SSF forces, alongside 2,020 positions for females in the BSF, CISF, CRPF, ITBP, and AR forces. Presented below is a comprehensive distribution of SSC GD vacancies across all Paramilitary Forces as disclosed by the authorities.
Only the candidates who fulfill the required eligibility criteria as mentioned by the commission are eligible to apply for SSC GD 2026 for Constable posts in BSF, CISF, CRPF, SSB, ITBP, AR, SSF, and NCB. The education qualification, age limit, and other criteria are mentioned below-
Educational Qualification
Candidates applying for GD Constable (BSF, CRPF, CISF, ITBP, SSF, SSB, and riflemen) must have passed 10th class or equivalent from a recognized board.
Age Limit (as on 01/01/2026)
Candidate is required to be between 18 to 23 years in order to be eligible for the SSC GD 2026 Exam. Age relaxation is given to candidates belonging to reserved categories as per the government rules.

Selection Process
The comprehensive selection procedure for SSC GD 2026 will be finalized in four phases: Computer Based Examination (CBE), Physical Standard Assessment (PSA), Physical Efficiency Assessment (PEA), and ultimately, the Medical Examination. Aspirants will be shortlisted for SSC GD Constable positions within the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), NIA, SSF, Rifleman (GD) in Assam Rifles, and Sepoy in the Narcotics Control Bureau through these respective phases.

For Computer-Based Examination
The computer-based examination will be of 160 marks consisting of 80 questions. There will be 4 sections in the online exam to be attempted in 60 minutes. 0.25 marks will be deducted when a question is answered wrong. There will be no penalty if the question is left unanswered. For the Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
The candidate must be efficient enough to finish the race within the time limit as mentioned in the below table. The limit has been set differently for candidates of the Ladakh region.

Salary Structure
The initial salary of a General Duty Constable is Rs. 23,527 per month and the starting basic pay of a Constable is Rs. 21,700. The maximum basic pay for a GD Constable can reach up to Rs. 69,100 in Paramilitary Forces.
