SBI CBO Experience
Bad news for all fresh graduates because SBI is demanding a minimum of 2 years’ experience as an officer in any Scheduled Commercial Bank / any Regional Rural Bank.
SBI CBO Local Language
Candidates applying for vacancies of a State have to produce 10th or 12th standard mark sheet/ certificate evidencing having studied the specific local language of the applied State as one of the subjects.
Application Fee
The online application fee for SBI CBO 2026 exam fee has already been released. A total of Rs. 750/- is to be paid by candidates belonging to General Category as the application fee for SBI Circle Based Officer 2026 exam. The same amount is narrowed down to Rs. 0/- for candidates belonging to SC/ST/PWD category.

Selection Process
Online computer-based testing, screening, interviews, and a local language proficiency test will all be used in the SBI CBO selection process. The Bank does, however, retain the authority to perform a written examination. An appropriate number of candidates will be shortlisted and invited for interviews after the Bank-appointed Shortlisting Committee determines the shortlisting criteria. The bank's choice to invite the applicants for an interview is final. Regarding this, no reply will be accepted.
Merit List: The merit list for selection of SBI Circle Based Officer 2026 exam will be prepared in descending order on the basis of scores obtained in the interview only.
Merit list will be drawn State-wise, category-wise. In case more than one candidate scores the cut-off marks (common marks at the cut-off point), such candidates will be ranked according to their age in descending order, in merit.

Penalty for Wrong Answers:
There will be no penalty for wrong answers marked in Objective Tests. If a question is left blank, i.e. if no answer is marked by the candidate, there will be no penalty for that question too.

Salary
As per the official SBI CBO Notification 2026, the initial salary of a “Circle Based Officers” (CBOs) will be in the scale of JMGS-I (Rs. 48480-2000/7-62480-2340/2- 67160-2680/7-85920), at the start of the scale i.e. Rs. 36,000/- plus one increment for each completed year of service rendered in officer cadre in the Scheduled Commercial Bank and Regional Rural Bank. The official will also be eligible for D.A, H.R.A/ Lease rental, C.C.A, Medical and other allowances & perquisites as per rules in force from time to time.
Cut Off
Each state and category's cut-off scores for the SBI CBO Recruitment 2026 Exam will be made public individually. Points to know before applying online
- The candidate have to apply for a vacancy in one State only. A candidate applying for a vacancy in one State are not be eligible to apply for a vacancy of any other State.
- Candidature of the applicant are to be considered only against the vacancies in the State for which he/ she has applied/ opted. Merit list will be drawn State wise, category-wise.
- Selected candidates will be posted in the Circle of that State against whose vacancy they are selected.
- The selected candidates will not be entitled to inner-circle transfer up to his/ her promotion to SMGS-IV Grade OR 12 years of service, whichever is later.
